Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MPs have been protesting in Parliament demanding a special package for Andhra Pradesh. Taking a dig at the Centre, TDP Lok Sabha member Jayadev Galla on said the box-office collections of blockbuster 'Baahubali' were more than the funds provided by it to Andhra Pradesh.
Jayadev Galla, said, " Rs 1800 Crore is what the government gave specifically to Andhra Pradesh in budget and Baahubali's collection is more than that. We received less than what a movie collected. If they can treat their allies like this then many people will not want to be their allies in future."
Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP had earlier expressed its disappointment with the Government at the Centre stating that no funds were allotted for various projects in the state and also for the construction of AP's capital city, Amaravati.
According to reports, Telugu blockbuster Baahubali-2 earned about Rs 1,700 crore from Indian and overseas markets. Galla said as many as 19 promises which include grant of special category status to the state, setting up of a new railway zone and funding construction of new capital of Amravati were still pending.
