Om Birla and Premchand Bairwa Open New Ayurveda College in Kota to Promote Wellness

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa inaugurated a new Ayurveda college in Kota. The initiative aims to enhance health tourism and establish Kota as a wellness hub.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa inaugurated a new building for the Government Ayurveda, Yoga, and Naturopathy Integrated College in Talwandi, Kota. During the event, Birla highlighted that Ayurveda and Yoga are integral to India's ancient lifestyle and health science. He suggested naming the college after former MP Vaidya Daudayal Joshi as a tribute to his contributions.

Birla expressed appreciation to the state government for backing his proposal. He also shared plans to enhance clinical research and therapies like hydrotherapy and cryotherapy at the college. Emphasising scientific standardisation, he noted its importance in maintaining medicinal product quality. Birla announced initiatives to develop Kota into a hub for Yoga, Ayurveda, and wellness.

Plans for Kota's Development

The development plan includes a 50-bigha Ayurveda Medicity and medicinal park aimed at boosting health tourism and creating jobs. Deputy Chief Minister Premchand Bairwa, who also serves as the AYUSH Minister, remarked that Ayurveda represents both an art of living and a science of harmony with nature. He expressed optimism about Kota becoming a centre for Ayurveda and Yoga.

Bairwa highlighted Rajasthan's leadership in Ayurveda and AYUSH medicine across India. He disclosed that an action plan worth Rs 348 crore has been sanctioned under the National AYUSH Mission. This plan includes setting up an Ayurvedic hospital in Bundi. The inauguration ceremony was attended by MLA Sandeep Sharma and other dignitaries.

Focus on Research and Quality

Birla outlined strategies to promote various therapies at the institution while stressing the need for scientific standardisation in medicinal products. His vision includes transforming Kota into a significant centre for wellness practices, which would foster health tourism and generate employment opportunities.

Bairwa's remarks underscored the state's commitment to advancing Ayurveda as both an art of living and a science aligned with nature. His confidence in Kota's potential as a hub for these ancient practices reflects broader efforts to position Rajasthan at the forefront of AYUSH medicine in India.

The event marked a significant step towards enhancing educational infrastructure in traditional medicine fields. With support from state authorities, these initiatives aim to elevate Kota's status in Ayurveda and Yoga, contributing to regional development and wellness tourism.
