Ayodhya, the holy city in Uttar Pradesh, witnessed a spectacular display of lights and festivities as the much-awaited consecration of the Ram Temple took place on Monday. The iconic temple, a symbol of devotion and faith, brightened the evening sky with its radiant illumination, captivating the hearts of lakhs of visitors who descended upon the city for this momentous occasion.

The night sky in Ayodhya was transformed into a canvas of vibrant colors as firecrackers lit up the surroundings, creating an enchanting ambiance reminiscent of Diwali. The magnificent Ram Temple stood as the centerpiece of this luminous spectacle, adorned with bright lights that highlighted its grandeur. Images of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita were projected onto a portion of the percota, while the name "Ram" was prominently displayed on the main structure, adding to the divine aura of the temple.
Ram Lalla's Idol Installed with Grand Ceremony
Earlier in the afternoon, the sacred idol of Ram Lalla was installed in the temple with a solemn Pran Pratishtha ceremony, conducted in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This significant ritual marked the culmination of years of devotion and anticipation, bringing immense joy and spiritual fulfillment to the devotees.
City Engulfed in Religious Fervor, Streets Adorned with Festive Decor
As the sun set, the entire city of Ayodhya seemed to be in a state of religious trance. Houses along the streets and even within narrow lanes, such as Swarg Dwar, were adorned with diyas, casting a warm and inviting glow. The grand residence of the erstwhile Raja of Ayodhya, Raj Sadan, along with numerous temples and buildings, had been illuminated days in advance, adding to the festive atmosphere.

Among the illuminated landmarks, the Raj Sadan stood out with its exceptional brilliance. A magnificent chandelier mounted beneath the arches of its gateway, complemented by additional lights adorning its two arched wings, created a breathtaking spectacle. Local residents and visitors alike flocked to the ornate gateway, known as Laxmidwar, to capture photographs and selfies, cherishing the moment until late into the night.
Temples and Public Places Radiate with Festive Glow
The spirit of devotion permeated every corner of Ayodhya as scores of people thronged temples to light diyas within their complexes. The city's ancient Ayodhya Nagari underwent a decorative transformation, with special attention given to Ram Path and Dharm Path, the two prominent street showpieces. The streets echoed with melodious songs like "Ram Aayenge" and "Awadh Mein Ram Aaye Hain," while saffron flags fluttered in the breeze, symbolizing the joyous occasion.
Saryu Aarti, Projection Show, and Eco-Friendly Fireworks
In the evening, a Saryu Aarti was performed on the banks of the holy Sarayu River, attended by dignitaries and saints. The consecration was followed by a captivating projection show at Ram Ki Paedi, which continued until 7 pm. A mesmerizing laser show and an eco-friendly fireworks display then lit up the sky, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations.
Ayodhya Celebrates the Divine Presence of Lord Ram
The consecration of the Ram Temple brought an overwhelming sense of joy and fulfillment to the residents of Ayodhya. Bharatendu Ji, a local resident, expressed his elation, saying, "Lord Ram is here. Generations of my family waited to celebrate this day. Even my daughter, who lives in Toronto, has lit diyas at her home." The entire city basked in the divine presence of Lord Ram, marking an unforgettable moment in the history of Ayodhya.
