Ayodhya: Rs 12 cr spent for upkeep of Ramjanam Bhumi-Babri Masjid site
New Delhi, Mar 17: A total of Rs 12 crore has been spent in last 20 years for protection and upkeep of Ramjanam Bhumi-Babri Masjid site, the government said on Tuesday.

As per the information provided by the Authorised Person-Cum-Commissioner, Faizabad division, Uttar Pradesh, a total amount of Rs 12 crore has been spent during the period of 1994-95 to 2014-15 for protection and upkeep of acquired properties at Ayodhya, Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said in Lok Sabha.
Since police and public order are state subjects as per the 7th Schedule of the Constitution, the responsibility for maintaining law and order and making security at the acquired area rests with the Uttar Pradesh government, he said.
