Ayodhya Ram Temple Inauguration: Who's Attending, Who's Not? Final List

Nearly 7,000 people will witness the 'pran pratishtha' (consecration ceremony) of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has invited people from all walks of life to the event.

Crores of people are expected to watch the event live on TV and online platforms as the Centre and several state governments have given holidays to its employees on January 22.

Who Are Going To Attend The Historic Event?

President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, senior BJP leaders like LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi along with many other politicians.

However, some reports claim that Advani might skip the event due to cold weather.

Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Madhuri Dixit, Chiranjeevi, Akshay Kumar, Dhanush, Randeep Hooda, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Kangana Ranaut, Rishab Shetty, Madhur Bhandarkar, Ajay Devgn, Jackie Shroff, Tiger Shroff, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sunny Deol, Kailash Kher, Prasoon Joshi, Shankar Mahadevan, Anup Jalota, Sonu Nigam and Anuradha Paudwal among others will take part in the event.

There were speculations that Yash, Prabhas and Mohanlal have been invited, but it is unclear whether they will be in Ayodhya for the consecration ceremony.

Gautam Adani, Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani, Kumar Mangalam Birla, N Chandrasekaran, Anil Agarwal, NR Narayana Murthy, Mohandas Pai and many other industrialist will be taking part in the event. Also, sportsmen such as Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Deepika Kumari and Saina Nehwal along with a few others will attend.

Who Are Not Attending?

Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Mamata Banerjee, Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar and Sharad Pawar have politely turned down the invitee.

"While abiding by the 2019 Supreme Court judgment and honouring the sentiments of millions who revere Lord Ram, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have respectfully declined the invitation to what is clearly an RSS/BJP event," the Congress said in a statement.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal claimed that he will go with his family to Ayodhya and pay obeisance to Ram Lalla at the the Ram temple there after the January 22 consecration ceremony.

On the other hand, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has called the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony in Ayodhya a pre-poll gimmick of the BJP and said that religion is a personal choice.

However, she will offer prayers to Maa Kaali today and hold an interfaith ceremony. "I will do a rally on 22 January. It will begin from Kali Mandir, which I will visit to offer prayers to Maa Kaali," she said. "Following that, we will hold an interfaith rally from Hazra to Park Circus maidan and hold a meeting there. We will cover mosques, temples, churches, and gurdwaras along the way. Everybody is welcome to join the rally. People of all faiths will be there at the rally," she added.

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has decided to skip the 'pran pratishtha' of Ram Temple . "After the celebrations on 22 January, the darshan of Shri Ram Lalla can be taken with ease and comfort. I am planning to come to Ayodhya to have a darshan of Shri Ram Lalla Ji with devotion. By then the construction of Ram temple would have been completed as well," he said in a statement.
