Ayodhya Celebrates Ram Temple Consecration with Folk Dances, Palki Yatra, and Chants of Jai Shri Ram

Ayodhya, the holy city in Uttar Pradesh, witnessed a grand celebration on Monday as the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple took place. The city was filled with religious fervor and devotion as devotees from all over the country gathered to witness this historic event.

Folk Dances, Palki Yatra, and Chants of Jai Shri Ram

The festivities began with a vibrant display of folk dances performed by various artistes. A palki yatra, organized by a religious troupe from Bhopal, added to the excitement as it made its way through the streets of Ayodhya. Devotees from Ayodhya and other cities joined in the procession, chanting Jai Shri Ram and immersing themselves in the spiritual atmosphere.

Melodious Tunes Fill the Air

A band from the Uttar Pradesh Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) added to the joyous atmosphere by playing melodious tunes related to Lord Ram. The streets of Ayodhya resonated with the tunes of "Ram Aayenge" and "Sare Jehan se Achha," further elevating the spirits of the devotees.

Palki Yatra Depicts Ram Durbar

A group of 111 devotees from an old shrine in Bhopal took part in a palki yatra, carrying a palanquin that depicted a Ram Durbar. The palki was adorned with wooden idols of Lord Ram, Sita, and Lakshman, creating a divine aura as it passed through the streets.

Religious Fervor Grips Ayodhya

Ayodhya was gripped by religious fervor as devotees, despite the biting cold, came together to celebrate this momentous occasion. The city echoed with chants of Jai Shri Ram and traditional songs extolling Lord Ram, creating an atmosphere of spiritual bliss.

Devotees from Different Cities Join the Festivities

Despite restrictions on vehicular and pedestrian movement in the city, a large number of devotees from different cities flocked to Ayodhya to be a part of the celebrations. They lined the streets of Ram Path and gathered at Lata Mangeshkar Chowk, eagerly awaiting the consecration ceremony.

Model of Ram Temple and Chants of Jai Shri Ram

Anurag Sharma from Sikar, Rajasthan, walked around the streets carrying a model of the Ram temple. He expressed his joy and devotion, stating that he had brought the model from his hometown and had been eagerly waiting for this day.

Cut-Outs and Posters Adorn the City

Cut-outs of Lord Ram were prominently displayed along the Ram Path and on the fence of Lata Mangeshkar Chowk. A cut-out of the newly-built Ram temple and the deity was installed near the chowk, where the Ram Path and the Dharm Path meet. Posters bearing the image of Lord Ram and Prime Minister Narendra Modi added to the festive ambiance.

PAC Band Performs Melodious Tunes

A 20-member band belonging to the PAC's fourth battalion, based in Prayagraj, performed on a walkway along the Dharm Path. The band delighted the crowd with their renditions of popular tunes, including "Raghupati Raghv Raja Ram," "Ram Janaki Baithe Hain Mere Seene Mein," and "Sare Jehans se Accha."

Magnificent Temple Celebrates Indian Culture

The newly constructed Ram temple stands as a testament to Indian culture and architectural brilliance. Built in the traditional Nagara style, the temple boasts a length of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a towering shikhar of 161 feet. Supported by 392 pillars and adorned with 44 doors, the temple exudes grandeur and spirituality.

The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya was a momentous occasion that brought together devotees from all corners of India. The city was filled with joy, devotion, and a sense of fulfillment as the grand temple was consecrated, marking a significant milestone in the history of Ayodhya and the nation.
