Ayodhya Ram Mandir Inauguration: Hotel bookings Soar Five Times, Here's Why

Ahead of the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, hotels in the city have been booked up to 80 per cent of their capacity. The rent of hotel rooms has also skyrocketed up to five times, and availability has also become a major issue for tourists.

Notably, around three to five lakh people are likely to throng the city to witness the historic 'pran pratishtha' (consecration) event during which Lord Ram's idol will be placed in the Ram Temple, reported India Today.

Ayodhya: Shooting Prices Of Hotel Booking

Just few days left to the grand celebration of a much awaited Ram Mandir inaugeration. However, this has majorly affected the accommodation crisis as online travel websites such as MakeMyTrip and Booking.com are showing 'no availability' in most of the hotels in Ayodhya. If rooms are available, rent has increased by up to five times from the normal average.

While sharing experience with India Today, one of the representative of Ayodhya's Cygnett Collection Hotel said that the majority of the rooms have already been booked and the remaining rooms are available at Rs 70,240. Meanwhile, another representative of Ramayana Hotel told that the rent for a room in the hotel has crossed Rs 40,000 per day for dates around the consecration event. In one of the elite hotels of Ayodhya, Park Inn Radisson, the most luxurious room has been booked for up to Rs 1 lakh.

Apart from this, the hotel chains in Ayodhya have also made special menus that include delicacies of millets, following the International Year of Nutritious Cereals, 2023. Several dishes of millet-based dishes as well as fasting snacks will be served to the guests," said Rajesh Singh, the head chef of Ramayana Hotel.

Further, he added, "To welcome the guests, we have made a special menu using a lot of millets, vegetables, with a special focus on Awadh cuisine. During the week, no non-vegetarian items will be served and a special focus has been given on the variety of local desserts and sweets in our special menu."
