Ayodhya Ram Mandir Marks First Anniversary Of Pran-Pratishtha Ceremony With Devotees
Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: The historic city of Ayodhya is brimming with devotion as it celebrates the first anniversary of the grand Pran-Pratishtha ceremony at the Ram Mandir. Devotees from across the country gathered to commemorate the momentous occasion, which continues to symbolize the culmination of a 500-year-long struggle and devotion.
A Year of Milestones for Ram Mandir

The Pran-Pratishtha ceremony, held on January 22, 2024, marked the consecration of Lord Ram's idol, Ram Lalla, in the Ram Mandir, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This landmark event was a milestone in the temple's history, officially enshrining the idol after years of anticipation and prayers. The temple's opening remains a significant achievement for Hindus worldwide, a powerful symbol of faith and perseverance.
Devotees Reflect on the Long Struggle
Devotees visiting Ayodhya on the anniversary shared their emotional connection to the event. A devotee from Hyderabad expressed, "My family and I had been planning this visit for months. We also took a dip in the holy waters of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj before coming here. This moment is the result of 500 years of struggle, and we're delighted with the arrangements inside the temple."
Pratishtha Dwadashi: A New Tradition
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had earlier announced that the first anniversary of the Ram Mandir would be celebrated on Paush Shukla Dwadashi, falling on January 11 according to the Hindu calendar. Going forward, this day will be referred to as Pratishtha Dwadashi. A three-day celebration commenced, which featured the Pran-Pratishtha of the Ram Darbar on the temple's first floor, with statues of Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Lord Hanuman, and Lord Ram's brothers being installed.
Historic Moments and Spiritual Gatherings
Uttar Pradesh Minister Jaiveer Singh described the occasion as "historic," reflecting on the sacrifices that led to Ram Lalla's installation in Ayodhya. "Ram Lalla's presence in Ayodhya is a victory for all of us," he said. Meanwhile, the ongoing Mahakumbh Mela continues to witness an influx of devotees, with even bigger crowds expected during the Shahi Snan on January 29.
Ram Mandir Construction to Be Completed by March 2025
Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple Construction Committee Chairman, Nripendra Misra, confirmed that the temple complex will be completed by March 2025, with the installation of Ram Darbar and completion of the essential infrastructure, marking the end of a historic journey.
The first anniversary of Ram Mandir signifies the fulfillment of a long-awaited dream for millions of Hindus, reaffirming the temple's place as a beacon of faith and devotion.
