Ayodhya Eyes Record To Lit 26 Lakh Diyas, Prepares for Ninth Deepotsav

The holy city of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh is buzzing with excitement as it prepares for the ninth annual Deepotsav festival. This evening, the city will celebrate the divine return of Lord Shri Ram. The event aims to surpass last year's record by lighting over 26 lakh diyas throughout the city, creating a stunning visual display.

In a bid to set a new record, 26,11,101 earthen lamps will be lit across 56 ghats along Ram Ki Paudi. This breathtaking sight on the banks of the sacred Saryu River will highlight Ayodhya's spiritual and cultural significance on a global scale. The local administration, cultural organisations, and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University are actively involved in organising this grand event.

Massive Participation and Coordination

More than 10,000 individuals are contributing to this massive effort. Their coordinated work ensures that every lamp is lit properly, enhancing the festival's grandeur. The meticulous planning involves dividing the area into zones, each overseen by two stewards who ensure all lamps are illuminated correctly.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Richard Stenning explained the verification process for this record attempt. Participants entering the venue are tracked using QR codes. Any unlit lamps or discrepancies are deducted from the final count to ensure accuracy in achieving this monumental feat.

Saryu Aarti: A Spiritual Highlight

This evening's festivities include a grand Saryu Aarti organised by the district administration and municipal corporation. This spiritual ceremony adds to the fervour of the occasion, drawing locals and visitors alike to witness Ayodhya's rich cultural heritage.
