Ayodhya Always Betrayed: Ramayan Actor Sunil Lahri Expresses Disappointment After BJP Losses In Faizabad Seat

Days after announcement of Lok Sabha Election results 2024, in which, BJP lost the most hyped Faizabad (Ayodhya) seat, actor Sunil Lahri reacted and expressed 'disappointment' stating 'Ayodhya always betrayed their king'. Sunil Lahri, who performed role of Laxman in Ramanand Sagar's famous TV show Ramayan, shared his disappointment on social media platform Instagram.

The result was a big shocker for many, however, saying that people betrayed a particular party just because it rebuild Ram temple, which was their earlier poll promise, was not right.

In one of his Instagram stories post election result, Lahri, in Hindi, wrote, ''We forgot that these are the same Ayodhya citizens who doubted Goddess Sita after she returned from exile. What do you call the person who even denies God? Selfish. History stands proof that the citizens of Ayodhya always betrayed their king. Shame on them.''

The controversial remark was condemned by thousands of social media users.

He also shared a video, in which, Lahri said it is not right, what people have done. Now the nation will have a coalition government, adding ''will it (new government) work smoothly for the coming five years?''

He further mentioned that he is happy as his favourite BJP candidates, Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil emerged victorious in their respective constituencies.
