Awareness on autism: Let’s do Jhakkad pakkad dance with 6 amazingly talented special children
On Thursday, Karan Johar launched the "6 Pack Band 2.0"--consisting of six children with impressive musical talents but having autism—in Mumbai.
Mumbai, April 27: On Thursday, when filmmaker Karan Johar launched the "6 Pack Band 2.0"--consisting of six children with impressive musical talents--in Mumbai, it was clear that "disability" should not stop us from acknowledging creativity of any person.
All the six children in the band have autism, but they do have great musical talents too. And, they rightly showcased their talent in the music video featuring their song, Jhakkad pakkad dance, released on Thursday during the launch of the band.

"#Maharashtra: Film Director-Producer Karan Johar launches '6 Pack Band 2.0', a band of 6 differently-abled children, in Mumbai," tweeted ANI.
What is autism?
According to the website Autism Speaks, autism or autism spectrum disorder refers to a range of conditions characterised by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviours, speech and non-verbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences.
"We now know that there is not one autism but many types, caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences," added the website.
The band has been launched in April because the entire month is dedicated to spreading awareness of the disorder. The Brooke Bond Red Label and Y-Films are the two companies supporting the country's first "isspeshal" band, the "6-Pack Band 2.0".
The band is the second segment of India's first transgender band, the Brooke Bond Red Label 6 Pack Band, which exploded on to the scene in 2016, winning millions of hearts across the globe, reported ANI.
The idea behind coming up with the band is to focus and talk about the important theme of mental health and disability. The six-member band has three boys and three girls between 13 to 18. They all have special needs but incredible music skills, drive and passion, said Johar.
"It's so wonderful to see these young, super talented kids come together to create something so epic. I am excited to be a part of something I know will not only change you and me but also has the power to change the world. I can't wait to see what these kids do next, they are here to conquer the world with their talent!" Johar added.
