Fatal Noida Hit-and-Run Audi Located in Delhi, Police Seek Driver

In a recent development from Noida, the local police have successfully located and recovered an Audi car involved in a tragic accident that claimed the life of a 55-year-old man. The incident, which occurred two days ago, has been under investigation, with the police making significant progress in the case. Despite the recovery of the vehicle, the driver responsible for the fatal crash remains at large.

Noida Hit-and-Run Audi Found

The Audi A4 35 TDI, now in police custody, was identified through CCTV footage and found in Delhi's Kidwai Nagar area near the NBCC complex. Deputy Commissioner of Police Noida, Vidya Sagar Mishra, confirmed the vehicle's recovery and mentioned that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the driver. The car is registered in Haryana and belongs to Pramod Kumar Singh, although it has not been confirmed if he was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.

Additional DCP Manish Mishra highlighted the extensive efforts made by the police to solve this case. Seven police teams were deployed, reviewing hundreds of CCTV clips from over 150 locations across Noida and surrounding areas in the National Capital Region (NCR). The victim, identified as Janak Dev Sah from Noida, met with the fatal accident early Sunday morning while on his way to buy milk.

The impact of the crash was so severe that Sah was thrown into the air and died instantly upon landing. His son, Pradeep Sah, reported the incident to Sector 24 Police Station, leading to an FIR being lodged. This incident is a stark reminder of a similar tragedy that occurred in Noida on May 16, where an e-rickshaw was hit by a BMW driven by a minor, resulting in two fatalities.

Statistics reveal a concerning trend in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, encompassing Noida and Greater Noida cities, with 1,176 road crashes recorded in 2023 alone. These incidents have led to 470 fatalities and 858 injuries. This marks a significant increase from 2022, which saw 437 deaths and injuries to 856 individuals due to road accidents.

The ongoing investigation into this latest road mishap underscores the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic laws to prevent such tragic occurrences in the future.
