Attack on Swiss couple: Sushma Swaraj seeks report from UP govt

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday sought a report from Uttar Pradesh government on alleged attack on Swiss couple in Agra's Fatehpur Sikri.

Responding to media reports, Swaraj has asked the state officials to visit the couple admitted in hospital. She tweeted, "I have just seen this (report). I have asked for a report from the State Government."
A couple from Switzerland was allegedly chased and attacked with stones and sticks by a group of youths in Fatehpur Sikri on Sunday, leaving them battered and bruised.
Quentin Jeremy Clerc, 24, who came to India on September 30 with his girlfriend Marie Droz, also 24, was quoted as saying that they were strolling near the railway station at the Fatehpur Sikri after a day in Agra when the group started following them and later attacked.
The male victim was left with a fractured skull and nerve damage, and the woman suffered broken bones in the attack that brings into focus security fears for foreign tourists.
The UP police arrested a suspect on Wednesday in connection with the assault. An FIR has been registered against four unknown people.
