Atiq Ahmed’s killers were jobless, addicted to drugs
After gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed was shot dead in Prayagraj in full media glare on Saturday night, the father of one of the assailants on Sunday said his son was jobless and a drug addict.
The family members of both Sunny Singh and Lavlesh Tiwari have said they had left the house long time ago, and they were not in touch.

"Lovlesh is my son. I saw the incident on TV. He never lived with us and neither was he involved in our family affairs. We do not acknowledge his actions nor do we have anything to do with this. He did not inform anything to us. We have not been in touch with him for several years now. He is already facing a case registered against him. He was jailed in that case," said Yagya Tiwari.
"He used to wander around and did no work. We live separately and don't know how he became a criminal. We have no idea about the incident," Pintu Singh, brother of shooter Sunny Singh told ANI.
Don-turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead while being taken for medical treatment in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj.
The incident took place around 10 pm when Atiq and his brother flanked by several policemen, were interacting with media when three people, disguised as media persons appeared out of nowhere and shot the two in the head in Uttar Pradesh.
However, the police caught the three killers soon after they shot Ahmed and his brother. Shocking videos of the incident, which went viral on social media show the killers chanting the slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" after killing the gangster.
The killers have been identified as Arun Maurya, Lavlesh Tiwari and Sunny.
While Sunny hails from Hamirpur district, Lavlesh Tiwari is a resident of Kotwali in Banda and Arun Maurya is from a village called Baghela Pukhta within the limits of Soron Kotwali police station in Kasganj.
