The son of an Assistant Commissioner of Delhi Police was allegedly pushed into a canal in Haryana by two friends over a financial dispute. The police have launched a search operation to find the missing man.
In a shocking incident, the son of an Assistant Commissioner of Delhi Police was allegedly pushed into a canal in Haryana by two of his friends over a financial dispute. The victim, identified as 26-year-old Lakshya Chauhan, has been missing since Monday, prompting a massive search operation by the authorities.

Search Operation Underway
The police have launched an extensive search operation to locate Chauhan. One of the accused, Vikas Bhardwaj, has been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the other accused, Abhishek. The search teams are scouring the canal and its surrounding areas, hoping to find any clues that may lead to Chauhan's whereabouts.
Sequence of Events
According to the police, Chauhan, along with Bhardwaj and Abhishek, had gone to attend a marriage function in Sonepat, Haryana, on Monday. However, when Chauhan failed to return home the following day, his father, ACP Yashpal Singh, filed a missing complaint. As the investigation progressed, the police suspected foul play, and the complaint was converted into an abduction FIR.
Murder Charges Added
On Friday, the case took a grim turn when the section of murder was added to the FIR. This development indicates that the police have gathered substantial evidence suggesting that Chauhan may have been harmed. The arrest of one of the accused further strengthens the case against the perpetrators.
Background of the Victim
Chauhan, a resident of Samaypur Badli in outer-north Delhi, was an advocate by profession and practiced at the Tis Hazari court. His friend Bhardwaj works as a clerk for another lawyer at the same court, while Abhishek, aged 19, is an acquaintance who was detained for questioning.
Motive Behind the Crime
During interrogation, Abhishek revealed that Bhardwaj had invited him to attend the marriage function with Chauhan in Sonepat. Bhardwaj also disclosed that Chauhan had borrowed money from him and often misbehaved when asked to repay the debt. This revelation suggests that the financial dispute between Chauhan and Bhardwaj may have been the motive behind the crime.
Reconstruction of Events
Based on the statements of the accused, the police have pieced together the sequence of events. On Monday, Chauhan picked up the accused from Rohini, and they reached the marriage function by night. After leaving the function around midnight, the trio stopped their car near the Munak Canal to relieve themselves. It was at this point that Bhardwaj and Abhishek allegedly pushed Chauhan into the canal and fled the scene in his car.
Ongoing Investigation
The police are actively pursuing the case and are making all efforts to trace Chauhan and recover his car. The arrest of one of the accused has provided crucial leads, and the investigation is progressing rapidly. The police are determined to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide closure to Chauhan's family.
The alleged pushing of a Delhi Police ACP's son into a canal over a financial dispute has sent shockwaves across the community. The incident highlights the urgent need to address issues of financial disputes and their potential consequences. As the investigation unfolds, the police are working tirelessly to gather evidence, apprehend the remaining accused, and bring justice to the victim and his family.
