Assamese Actor Nandini Kashyap Arrested In Hit and Run Case

Assamese actor Nandini Kashyap was taken into custody by Guwahati police following a hit-and-run incident. The accident resulted in the death of a 21-year-old student, Samiul Haque. CCTV footage captured the moment when a Scorpio, allegedly driven by Kashyap, struck Haque as he was heading home. The incident took place in Guwahati's Dakhingaon area on July 25 at around 3 am.

According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle did not stop after hitting Haque and fled the scene. Haque was immediately transported to the hospital in critical condition but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. His family revealed that he suffered severe head trauma and multiple fractures in his legs, arms, and thighs.

Actor's Arrest and Investigation

Kashyap was arrested early Wednesday morning and taken to Panbazar Women Police Station. Before her arrest, police had seized her vehicle and questioned her about the incident. She denied any involvement in the accident. "The actress was officially arrested around 1:30 AM on Wednesday," police officials stated.

Haque's friends reportedly pursued the SUV to an apartment complex in Kahilipara where they confronted Kashyap. The police have added Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to the case against her. Despite initial promises from Kashyap to cover Haque's medical expenses, his family claims she never followed through.
