Assam CM Tarun Gogoi dances, plays as nation mourns the death of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam
Guwahati, July 30: At a time when the nation is yet to come to terms with the loss of India's most loved former president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, perhaps, forgot that the nation is under seven-day mourning.
On Wednesday, July 29, Gogoi was dancing "jhumoor" with some girls at a tea garden at an inaugural function of an amalgamated plantation hospital at Hatikhuli in Golaghat district. [Live Updates: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam laid to rest with full honours]

Gogoi not only danced, but he also played golf and snooker, after landing his chopper in middle of golf course in Nagaon district. His pics playing golf, went viral on social media as well as on news channels.
Later, Gogoi apologised by saying, "I did a mistake by dancing at a function. I should not have done it when we are mourning APJ Abdul Kalam's unfortunate death. I apologize for this. The golf playing and sports aren't enjoyment though."
Meanwhile, the BJP lashed out at Gogoi's acts.
Assam BJP president Siddhartha Bhattacharya was quoted saying as to the TOI, "On Saturday he (Gogoi) lost his close friend and former union minister BK Handique and on Monday we lost our former President and here is a chief minister who is busy dancing and playing golf."
