14 killed in Assam militant attack
Guwahati, Aug 5: At least 14 people have been killed and 15 others were injured when militants opened fire in a market in Kokrajhar district in Assam.
One militant also killed in an exchange of fire with security forces , media reported on Friday.

"The horrific attack appears to be the work of the dreaded terror outfit, NDFB. The
modus operandi suggests that it could be the work of this group," said police officials.
When contacted, the DGP of the state, Mukesh Sahay says that it is too early to say anything, but the pattern seems to be that of the NFDB. The immediate focus is to overpower the militants and our forces are on it he also added.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the attack. Encounter still underway.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the government was closely monitoring the situation in Assam.
