Ashok Singhal demands nation-wide ban on cow slaughter

New Delhi, Jul 9: VHP international president Ashok Singhal has demanded a nation-wide ban on cow slaughter.

Addressing a function at village Harevali near here, Singhal said that protection of cows is necessary for the nation's progress and said that by banning cow slaughter India will become a "Hindu nation by 2020".

"There should be a complete ban on cow slaughter across the country and this should be done soonest. By doing so, India will become a Hindu nation by 2020," he said.
