On April 13, Asha Bhosle was laid to rest with full state honours in Mumbai. Her mortal remains were kept at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, where fans, friends, and members of the film industry gathered for a final glimpse.

Her last rites were performed at Shivaji Park, with several Bollywood celebrities, musicians, sportspersons, and political leaders attending the funeral. The atmosphere was filled with grief as the nation came together to honour one of its most treasured voices.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on April 11 after suffering from chest congestion and exhaustion. Despite medical care, she passed away the following day.
Her son Anand Bhosle confirmed the news of her demise, after which tributes poured in from across the country and beyond.

In her speech, she expressed humility and gratitude, dedicating the honour to the entire music industry. She also paid tribute to her father Deenanath Mangeshkar, her teachers, and her family.

Receiving the award from Dilip Kumar, she fondly mentioned him as "Yusuf bhai" and said she felt blessed to receive his blessings.
