Asaram's judicial custody extended till Nov 6, chargesheet to be filed

Jodhpur, Oct 26: Looks like self-styled godman will be cooling heels in the jail for a longer time after a sessions court extended his judicial custody till November 6 on Saturday.

Reports also suggested that the Jodhpur police is likely to file the chargesheet against Asaram and four others accused in the Jodhpur sexual assault case on Saturday. The sessions court had extended Asaram's custody by a day on Friday but on Saturday it announced that Asaram will be in judicial custody until Nov 6.

The police officials, who are associated with the probe are giving different versions about the chargesheet. A senior police official said that the chargesheet cannot be filed before Monday. "We need at least two to three more days to file the charge sheet and it is most likely to be filed by Monday," the official said.

Meanwhile Asaram appealed to the court asking it not to send him anywhere for any investigation as the journey was very taxing and painful and that he was suffering from back pain.
