Asaram's judicial custody extended

, Sept 16: All hopes of 72 year-old self-styled Godman

of being released on Sunday were marred by the extension of his judicial

till September 30. However, the hearing of his bail plea will be held on Monday at 2pm in a Rajasthan court. He would be represented by lawyer Ram Jethmalani in the court.

Only last week did a lower court reject the bail plea of Asaram. Meanwhile, it is being alleged by the counsel of the girl's family that Asaram's followers are threatening them to withdraw the case against him. Manish Das, in fact, stated that the threat call was made to the girl's family-friend.

He further added,"I have urged the police to ensure adequate security to the family."

Meanwhile, in a separate case, the Madhya Pradesh court will hear the case relating to the illegal land acquisition in Indore. A part of the land was reportedly allotted to him in 1998 by the then Congress government Digvijay Singh.
