Asad buried even as gangster father Atiq Ahmed fails to attend
The body of Asad Ahmed, the 19-year old son of gangster Atiq Ahmed was buried at the Kasari Masari graveyard in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, two days after he and his aide Ghulam Hassan wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case were killed in an encounter.
It was the family's decision to directly bring the body to the Kasari Masari graveyard, additional commissioner of police, Akshay Kulhary said.

Asad was buried at the graveyard where all other relatives of his, including his grandmother were buried. His grave was dug next to his Atiq's father, Feroz Ahmed. Those present included his sister Shaheen Begum.
Before the burial, Atiq's lawyer had reached the graveyard to request that the process be halted till the district court of Prayagraj hears the application filed by Atiq to be allowed to take part in the last rites of his son.
The body of Ghulam Hasan, who was also killed in the encounter was brought to the Mehendauri graveyard in Prayagraj for burial.

Meanwhile security has been high and the entry inside the Kasari Masari graveyard has been restricted. Barricading is in place in Chakia and people were asked to return to their homes.
Just around two-dozen people have been allowed at the Kasari Masari graveyard. Officials had also used drones to keep a vigil around the graveyard. The security personnel also video-recorded the scene.
The rituals before the burial, which are usually performed at home, were carried out at the graveyard.
Asad's body was brought to Atiq's residence in Prayagraj, from where it was taken t the graveyard to perform the last rites. A large crowd had gathered near Atiq's now demolished house at Chakia in Prayagraj to take part in the funeral.
