As Exit Polls Predict Victory, BJP Expresses Confidence Of Emerging Victorious In Maha, Jharkhand

Political parties have reacted differently to the exit polls for the Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections. Leaders from the NDA are optimistic, viewing the polls as a sign of their impending success in both states. Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh and BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo have dismissed any doubts, expecting a strong majority in Jharkhand despite accusations of corruption against the current government.

Opposition's Response to Exit Polls

In contrast, opposition leaders like Congress candidates Dr Ajoy Kumar and Dr Nitin Raut, along with JMM leader Manoj Pandey, have raised concerns about the accuracy of these exit polls. They argue that such polls often fail to capture true voter sentiment and accuse ruling alliances of electoral malpractices, including bogus voting and misuse of resources. They remain hopeful that their alliances will form governments once actual results are announced.

As Exit Polls Predict Victory BJP Expresses Confidence Of Emerging Victorious In Maha Jharkhand

Exit polls suggest that the Mahayuti will retain power in Maharashtra, while the NDA is expected to have an advantage in Jharkhand. Despite these predictions, it is believed that the Maha Vikas Aghadi will present a strong challenge in Maharashtra but may not reach a majority in the 288-member assembly. According to P-MARQ exit poll data, Mahayuti could win between 137-157 seats, whereas Maha Vikas Aghadi might secure 126-147 seats.

Voter Turnout and Campaigning

Maharashtra's elections saw a voter turnout of 58.22%, with intense campaigning from both sides. Prominent figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Uddhav Thackeray were actively involved in rallies supporting their parties.

In Jharkhand, elections were held over two phases for 81 assembly seats. Exit polls show mixed opinions; some favour the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance while others predict a lead for the JMM-led alliance. The second phase witnessed approximately 67.59% voter turnout. Leaders from both sides campaigned vigorously, highlighting the competitive nature of this electoral battle.

The results for these assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand are eagerly anticipated along with bypolls in several states. Counting is set to begin on November 23. These elections hold significant importance for all parties involved and could potentially reshape the political landscape in these regions.
