Arvind Panagariya quits as Niti Aayog vice chairman
Arvind Panagariya has resigned as the vice chairman of the Niti Aayog. He says that he wants to return to academia. He will serve the Niti Aayog till the end of August.

He said that he wanted to return to the Columbia University in the United States as a professor of economics. He will rejoin the university on September 5.
Arvind Panagariya is an Indian-American economist and a professor of economics at Columbia University. He was previously the Chief Economist at the Asian Development Bank.
In the past, he has been a professor of economics at the University of Maryland at College Park. He has also worked for the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organization, and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). He holds a Ph.D in economics from Princeton University.
