Arvind Kejriwal Will Become Punjab CM? Here's What Parvesh Verma Said

Senior BJP leader and Minister in Delhi Government, Parvesh Verma on Wednesday launched a fresh attack at former CM and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal for his visit to Punjab. Parvesh Verma claimed he foresaw this move during the Delhi assembly election and knew that after losing Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal will head to Punjab to protect AAP's government there.

Parvesh Verma said, "As I was saying during election campaigning, after losing in Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal would run to Punjab. Now, they have a government there, he wants to safeguard it. Now, will he become a Rajya Sabha MP or Punjab CM, let's see in the coming days."

Arvind Kejriwal Will Become Punjab CM

Criticism from BJP Spokesperson

BJP spokesperson RP Singh criticised the Punjab government for treating Kejriwal as a "VIP." Singh pointed out that Kejriwal holds no official position such as MLA or Chief Minister. He added that Punjab might reject him soon just like Delhi did.

Singh stated, "He is neither an MLA nor a CM, but the Punjab govt still treats him as a VIP and provides security. Like Delhi, in the coming days, Punjab will also reject him."

Manjinder Singh Sirsa's Remarks

Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa also took aim at Kejriwal over alleged misuse of public funds during his visit to Punjab. Sirsa questioned the extensive security arrangements and resources used for Kejriwal's visit.

"There are cars worth more than Rs 2 crores, fire brigades, ambulances, and more than 100 commandos in his (Arvind Kejriwal's) convoy for his 'Vipassana.' What type of a common man is he?... Arvind Kejriwal is wasting Punjab's money," Sirsa commented.

Kejriwal's Visit Amid Election Preparations

Kejriwal arrived at a guest house in Hoshiarpur with tight security on Tuesday. His visit comes as AAP aims to strengthen its presence ahead of upcoming elections in Punjab. The party is focusing on consolidating its influence in the state.

AAP's Sanjeev Arora will contest the Ludhiana West by-election following the passing of AAP MLA Gurpreet Gogi last month. Arora's nomination has led to speculation about Kejriwal possibly entering the Rajya Sabha.
