Arvind Kejriwal To Attend Third Meeting Of INDIA Alliance

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday confirmed that he will attend the third meeting of the INDIA Alliance in Mumbai amid the ongoing tensions between the Congress Party and AAP.

While addressing the media over the issue, CM Kejriwal asserted, "We will go to Mumbai, and will let you know about our strategy."

This comes after Congress leader Alka Lamba surfaced in headlines for her remarks "preparing on all seven Delhi seats".

Recently Lamba was heard saying, "No decision has been taken on whether to have an alliance, but we have been asked to prepare ourselves on all seven seats. We will go to the people strongly after preparing ourselves properly in all seven seats."

AAP Supremo who was perturbed by Lamba's statement took a dig at the Congress Party in his election speeches in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.

"The people of the state have tried these two parties (Congress and BJP) for the last 75 years, but none of them provided electricity in the state. If you want power supply, vote for AAP, and if you want power cut vote for these two parties," the Delhi CM was heard saying while addressing a rally in MP.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Friday claimed that there is no controversy over the alliance. He was quoted saying as, "There might be two reasons for AAP getting jumpy in this case. One is that they might have got an indication from Amit Shah's speech where he said 'AAP will quit INDIA' and they often listen to the BJP. Secondly, AAP might be missing out on being a party that is talked about."

Reportedly, the logo of the opposition INDIA alliance is likely to be unveiled during the front's meeting in Mumbai on August 31 and September 1. 80 leaders from more than 26 political parties are expected to attend the meeting in the country's financial capital. At present, 26 parties are part of the grouping, and a few more are set to join the alliance during the two-day meeting.
