Kejriwal ready to take on BJP, to field Anjali Damania against Gadkari

New Delhi, Dec 17: Arvind Kejriwal seems to have all set to take on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in upcoming Lok Sabha election which is expected to be held by May 2014. According to sources, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is likely to field Anjali Damania against BJP's former President -- Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur, Maharashtra.

AAP leader Mayank Gandhi has been quoted as saying, "The state executive last week discussed the matter and asked Damania to be prepared for her candidature from Nagpur."

Here it can be mentioned that neither Gadkari nor Damania have contested any election so far. Contesting from Nagpur Parliamentary constituency would be their debut in electoral process.

Gadkari has been elected to the Maharashtra Legislative Council from the graduates constituency since 1989. Gadkari has already indicated that he is quite keen to contest from the Nagpur Lok Sabha seat which is currently represented by the Congress' Vilas Muttemwar. Gadkari has already initiated a slew of projects in Nagpur constituency and has also launched the voters' contact programme.
