Delhi MCD election result 2017: Arvind Kejriwal tweets, congratulates BJP

The Delhi chief minister tweeted that his government would work with the MCDs for a 'better Delhi'.

Hours after his party leaders blamed EVMs for AAP's loss in the Delhi civic polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the BJP. In a tweet he posted on Wednesday evening, Arvind Kejriwal congratulated the BJP for their victory in all three zones of tDelhi municipal corporation.

While his party's leaders refused to accept the results graciously and chose to blame EVMs yet again, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that his government would work with the MCDs for a 'better Delhi'. The AAP's abysmal performance in the Delhi civic polls despite being in power in Delhi came as massove embarrasment to the party. The party's chief and Delhi Chief Miniser Arvind Kejriwal had been criticised for threatening people with dengue if the BJP came to power.

The AAP that received a drubbing in the Punjab and Goa assembly polls was once again reduced to a non-entity in the civil polls. The AAP had, after the five state assembly polls, decided stop negative cmapaigning. The party had decided to go back to their original agenda of anti-corruption and development. The same seems to have failed this time around as well. Arvind Kejriwal who has been a frontrunner in blaming EVMs for his party's losses chose to quietly congratulate the BJP on Wednesday.
