Arvind Kejriwal Appeals For Support To Labourers Battling Extreme Heat

Arvind Kejriwal, AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister, has raised concern over the severe impact of the ongoing heatwave, especially on daily wage workers and labourers who continue to work in extreme conditions.

In a recent message, Arvind Kejriwal highlighted that the most devastating effects of the heatwave are being faced by "mazdoor bhai-behen" - workers who are often exposed to direct sunlight for long hours. He urged citizens to come forward and take simple yet meaningful steps to help protect them during this intense weather.

Kejriwal appealed to people to ensure proper hydration and cooling arrangements for labourers working in and around their homes or neighbourhoods. He suggested that providing access to drinking water, shaded areas, or temporary cooling points can significantly reduce the risk of heatstroke and dehydration.

He also emphasized the importance of allowing workers additional rest during peak afternoon hours, when temperatures are at their highest. According to him, small adjustments in work schedules can go a long way in safeguarding their health.

Further, Arvind Kejriwal encouraged people to be mindful of workers seen on roadsides and construction sites. He urged citizens to at least offer them water, noting that such gestures of kindness can make a crucial difference in extreme heat conditions.

Calling it a collective responsibility, Kejriwal stressed that ensuring the safety and well-being of labourers is not just the government's duty but a shared social obligation. His message serves as a reminder that community support and awareness are key to protecting vulnerable groups during harsh weather conditions.
