Arunachal border is with Tibet, not China

"China has no business telling us what to do and what not to do," Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has said.

China has been constantly cribbing about the Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal Pradesh. What China needs to know is that it cannot speak about a border dispute in Arunachal Pradesh. Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu had the perfect answer to China which has relentlessly raised objections to the visit by the spiritual leader.

"Let me get this straight," Khandu said. "China has no business telling us what to do and what not to do. It is not our next-door neighbour. Arunachal Pradesh shares a border with Tibet, and not China," he said.

He went on to add that the McMahon Line demarcates the boundary between India and Tibet and not China. Khandu added that China has no right to object because it is not even a next-door neighbour.

China has been claiming 90,000 square kilometres of Arunachal Pradesh, which has been denied by India. China has been warning India since long about this issue. However, in the past month, China has upped the ante and has said that it will not tolerate Dalai Lama's visit to Arunachal. China even said that the visit had caused severe damage to the ties between the two countries.
