As Vijay Mallya was arrested, the news spread like a sensation in all media houses. But within three hours of his arrest, the influential tycoon was out on bail.
Bengaluru, April 18: Vijay Mallya, the embattled businessman, who has been declared a proclaimed offender in India, was on Tuesday arrested in London by the Scotland Yard on India's request for his extradition on fraud charges.
61-year-old liquor baron, wanted in India for defaulting on loans, was arrested after he appeared at a central London police station this morning. The flamboyant businessman, who once called himself 'The King of Good Times", was released on bail a few hours later.
Meanwhile, the government is assessing how to bring Vijay Mallya back to India and start judicial proceedings against him.
As Mallya was arrested, the news spread like a sensation in all media houses. But within three hours of his arrest, the influential tycoon was out on bail.
