Army foils infiltration bid, 2 militants killed in J&K

Srinagar, June 16: Army on Thursday,June 16 foiled an infiltration bid by killing two militants in Tangdhar sector near the Line of Control in Kashmir, officials said here.

This was the second such infiltration bid foiled by the security forces along the LoC in Kashmir in three days.

"Army foiled an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district near the LoC this morning. Two militants have been killed and the operation is in progress," an army official said. He said one soldier was also injured in the operation.

On Tuesday, an infiltration bid was foiled in Machhil sector of Kupwara district. The two-day operation left one militant dead while one soldier laid down his life. Four other jawans were also injured in the operation.
