Srinagar, Dec 6: Timely intervention of armed forces averted a major tragedy in a village in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.
A civil bus, bearing registration number JK08-A 8840, which was on the way from Palma to Rajouri, met with an accident at around 1:50 pm near a village called Badhoon. The driver lost control of the bus when it reached neat Khandli Bridge and the vehicle overturned on the side.
A road opening party under ‘Romeo Force' quickly swung into action, say witnesses. The force rescued all the passengers trapped in the bus and carried them in the Army vehicle to the civil hospital at Rajouri.
Reportedly, some of the passengers were seriously injured.
Witnesses say that the bus was in high speed when the accident happened.
