Following the sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar due to health reasons, political pundits have predicted that Arif Mohammad Khan, current Governor of Bihar, could be India's next Vice President. If speculations are to be believed, then many leaders inside BJP are also backing Arif Mohammad Khan for the second top position.

Arif Mohammad Khan is a senior Muslim politician, and if BJP puts the bet on him, they might get some good results in the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections, in which, minority community plays a big role.

Reports said, BJP will announce its candidate for the Vice President's post once Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his official visits to the UK and Maldives.

His resignation has triggered immediate discussions within the NDA about a suitable replacement. Among the various names floated, Khan stands out as the top choice due to his long political career, ideological alignment with the BJP, and support for several of the Modi government's key reforms.

Once a prominent member of the Congress party, Khan gained national attention in the 1980s when he resigned from Rajiv Gandhi's Cabinet over the government's controversial decision to overturn the Supreme Court verdict in the Shah Bano case-a landmark ruling supporting Muslim women's rights.
