Archita Phukan Dragged Into AI Scandal: Ex-Partner Accused Of Creating Fake Profile

In a dramatic turn in the ongoing cyber harassment case involving social media influencer Archita Phukan, Assam Police have arrested Pratim Bora, her former partner, for allegedly creating a fake profile and circulating AI-generated obscene images of her online.

This latest development follows a complaint filed by Phukan's brother after explicit morphed images of the influencer-featuring her alongside adult film actress Kendra Lust-began circulating widely across social media platforms. According to police, Bora operated the fake account for several weeks, deliberately uploading objectionable content to harass and defame Phukan.

Bora, a resident of Tinsukia, had been absconding since the case surfaced but was tracked down through IP address monitoring and phone surveillance. He was arrested from a rented apartment in Tinsukia late Saturday evening. His mobile phone and laptop have been seized and are now undergoing forensic analysis.

During interrogation, Bora reportedly confessed to sourcing old photos of Phukan from her public social media accounts and using editing tools to generate fake, obscene content. Officers stated that Bora acted out of emotional distress and "anger" following the breakup with the influencer.

The accused has been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the police are preparing to invoke provisions of the Information Technology Act for charges including cyber fraud, identity theft, defamation, and violation of privacy.

Bora remains in police custody and will be produced before a magistrate shortly. This arrest marks a critical step forward in a case that highlights the growing misuse of AI and digital tools in cyberstalking and personal revenge.
