Apple iPhone 15 Launched: 'Made In India' Still Pricey, See Details
THE PRICES: Apple's Latest iPhone was launched in India and 40 other countries on 22nd September. Long queues could be seen outside Apple's retail stores in Delhi and Mumbai before the launch. iPhone 15 was the first phone ever that had been 'made in India' pre-launch. Reportedly, Foxconn, one of Apple's manufacturing partners started assembling the iPhone 15 at the Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu in August this year.
Even this did not bring the prices of Apple's latest phone down for Indian consumers. The iPhone is available in four models of which the base model with 128GB storage starts from Rs. 79,900 while it starts with Rs. 1,59,900 for iPhone Pro Max which has 256GB storage. The other variants are iPhone 15 Plus starting at Rs. 89,900 and the iPhone 15 Pro at Rs. 1,34,900 for 128GB storage. There are 512GB storage space variants of the phone available as well.

As per Bloomberg, since all components that go into an iPhone15 are imports attracting customs duty with an 18% GST on top of it, it fails to bring down the phone's steep pricing.
FEATURES: As per Apple's official page, this iPhone 15 is available in 5 different variants which are Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, and Black, and has 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage facilities.
On the other hand, iPhone Pro models are offered in Black Titanium, Blue Titanium, Natural Titanium, and White Titanium colors and have 256GB, 512GB, and up to 1TB storage variants.
Apple claims that its ceramic shield front which comes with the iPhone 15 is "tougher than any smartphone glass" while the phone is also water resistant.
Optically, iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. Their Pro models sport a 48-megapixel wide-angle sensor, a 12-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor.
iPhone 15 and iPhone Pro have a 6.1-inch OLED display while their Plus counterparts have a larger 6.7-inch OLED display.
As per reports, the demand for Apple's latest models has been so high that new orders could only be expected until November in many countries while the in-store pick-ups have already been sold out.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW: Apart from the iPhone 15, Apple also launched the Apple Watch Series 9 and the Apple Watch SE (2nd Gen) which start from Rs. 41,900 and Rs. 29,900 respectively.
