Appalling! 3-Year-Old Girl Raped, Murdered In Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati

A tragic incident unfolded in Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh, where a three-year-old girl was raped and murdered by a 22-year-old relative. The accused, who lived nearby, lured the child with chocolates on Friday. After committing the crime, he buried her body in a field, according to police reports.

When the young girl failed to return home, her worried parents began searching for her. They eventually lodged a police complaint, mentioning that she was last seen with the accused. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to his heinous act and was subsequently detained by authorities.

Community Shocked by Crime

The Superintendent of Police, L Subbarayudu, stated that the accused behaved suspiciously during questioning. "He confessed to taking her to an open ground near the school and sexually assaulting her," said the SP. He further revealed that after committing the crime, the accused killed and buried her in the field.

The victim's body was recovered and sent for post-mortem at Puttur Government Hospital. The girl's mother had considered the accused as a brother figure. He frequently visited their home and played with the child. A neighbour expressed disbelief over his actions, stating, "Who will suspect he would do this? He was like a family member."

Government Response

In response to this horrific event, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh for the grieving family. Additionally, Home Minister Anita Vangalapudi is scheduled to visit them soon to offer support.

Nagari MLA Gali Bhanu Prakash has called for severe punishment for the perpetrator of this crime. The community remains in shock as they grapple with this tragedy involving someone they trusted.
