APJ Abdul Kalam passes away: What happened at IIM Shillong?
Shillong, July 27: This would be considered one of the darkest days of India as the country lost its most loveable president. APJ Abdul Kalam passed away on Monday, July 27.
83-year-old Kalam collapsed while delivering a speech at IIM Shillong. He was rushed to a hospital in the city. Hours after his admission to the hospital, doctors declared him dead.

It has been reported that he suffered from a cardiac arrest. Kalam collapsed on the stage while addressing the students of IIM Shillong.
His last tweet on micro-blogging site Twitter was, "Going to Shillong.. to take course on Livable Planet earth at IIM."
This tweet was posted 10 hours back. Earlier he was seen at Guwahati airport at 3 pm. Sources told OneIndia that his body will be flown in to New Delhi on Tuesday morning. The body first would be taken to Guwahati for embalming and then flown into New Delhi.
Meanwhile, Government of India declared national mourning for seven days.
Kalam was the 11th President on India between 2002 and 2007.
