AP-Telangana Women's Commission favours castration of rapists
Hyderabad, Oct 28: Welcoming the Madras High Court's recent suggestion that castration should be considered as an additional form of punishment for child rapists, the State Women's Commission (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) today said it is "the best solution for rapists".
"I am very happy that one of the learned judges of the Madras High Court has expressed that castration is the best solution for the rapists of minor girls. Not now, some 15 years back in several meetings I expressed the same opinion.

Asked if she looks forward to the government making castration as an additional punishment, Tripurana said, "I doubt.
Because you know these human rights activists say no and people like us say yes. So always a clash will be there. Let us wait and see. That's the opinion expressed by the judge."
A judge of the Madras High Court Justice N Kirubakaran in a recent order had said castration for child rapists would fetch "magical" results in preventing child abuse.
