AP, Telangana to expect heavy rains in 24 hours

The monsoon has further advanced into parts of Rajasthan and Haryana on Tuesday.

Heavy rains are expected in Odisha and north coastal Andhra Pradesh and surrounding areas in the next couple of days. The depression is expected to make a landfall between Puri and Gopalpur and in the next couple of days Odisha, north coastal AP, south Chattisgarh and Telangana will receive heavy rains.

Meanwhile in a tweet, Madhavan Rajeevan, secretary, ministry of earth sciences said, " Widespread rains with heavy spells are expected in next 8-10 days over central and northwest India."

Further an official release also warned that several rivers and tributaries are expected to observe a rise in levels.

The monsoon has further advanced into parts of Rajasthan and Haryana on Tuesday. Nearly 90 per cent of the country are now covered by the monsoon. THe monsoon entered an active phase three days back. July so far has a 3.5 deficit.
