Hyderabad, Oct 24: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao tonight claimed that his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu was denying the rightful share of electricity to Telangana by not honouring the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act and said he will move Supreme Court over the matter. Rao also sought Centre's intervention into the matter.

Holding Naidu responsible for the "prevailing acute power shortage" in Telangana, Rao alleged that the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister sought to defame the TRS government and "he is a cheater".

"Chandrababu Naidu says Telangana government does not have far-sightedness (in managing power sector). We have far-sightedness, but don't have the sight which thieves have. I will say the story of this side. We are also going to Supreme court on this. The court will decide," he told reporters late tonight after a meeting of the state Cabinet.

Reading out statistics, Rao alleged that the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act are being violated by the government of residuary Andhra Pradesh.

"Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of residuary Andhra Pradesh is indulging in a large scale misinformation campaign. His attitude is arrogant and he feels he can say anything. Facts are totally different. It is Chandrababu Naidu who is completely violating Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. The Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act clearly says that 53.89 per cent share in electricity should be given to Telangana in projects existing before June 2 (Telangana Formation Day) and those coming up after that. "But the unfair stance taken by him was said, like a slap on his face, by the ERC (Electricity Regulatory Commission) of his own state," Rao said.
