Any Act Of Terror Will Be Considered An Act of War: India

In a clear warning to Pakistan, India has decided that any future act of terror will be considered an Act of War against India and will be responded accordingly, top government sources told ANI.

Pakistan had made a similar remark earlier, warning India that any move to restrict water into the country would be considered "an act of war", as New Delhi suspended the Indus Water Treaty.

Any Act Of Terror Will Be Considered An Act of War India

It comes at a time when the tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours deteriorated after the Indian armed forces carried out attack on the terror infrastructure in the PoK and Pakistan.

The decision to consider any terrorist attack in India as an Act of War was taken during the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. It was attended by Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces at his residence in New Delhi.

Why The Decision Was Taken?

Time and again, India has exposed the role of Pakistan in terror attacks in India. Pieces of evidence have shown that elements within the Pakistan Army and in the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) provide logistical support, safe havens, training, and financial aid for terrorist groups operating in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

Despite repeated appeals by the international community, the Pakistani establishment has taken little action to dismantle these networks. India views this passive tolerance as tantamount to active collaboration.

According to a report in NDTV, acts of terror that may be deemed declarations of war include bombings, gunfire, hijackings, and cyber, biological, or chemical attacks- particularly those targeting government buildings, military bases, and institutions.

Tensions Increase

Meanwhile, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh jointly briefed the media on the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Indian Army Colonel Sofiya Qureshi on Saturday confirmed that precision strikes were executed against Pakistani military targets in Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian, as well as radar facilities located at Pasrur and Sialkot aviation bases. These operations were conducted using air-launched weapons deployed by Indian fighter aircraft.

Colonel Sofiya Qureshi said, "It is a matter of concern that taking the cover of civilian aircraft taking off from Lahore, Pakistan misused international air routes. So that they can hide their activities. Such tactics compelled Indian air defence system to act with great patience while ensuring civilian security..."

She further stated, "As a condemnable and unprofessional act, Pakistan targeted hospitals and school premises at air bases at Srinagar, Awantipur and Udhampur. This once again revealed their irresponsible tendency of attacking civil infrastructure.
