Anupam Kher appointed FTII chairman
Anupam Kher has held the post of chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification and the National School of Drama in India. He is currently the chairman at Actor Prepares.

Bollywood actor and noted theatre personality Anupam Kher appointed as Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) chief. He will succeed Gajendra Chauhan.

Kher replaces Gajendra Chauhan, who had a controversial tenure as head of the Pune-based institute. His term had ended in March.
A notification regarding Kher's appointment has been issued, Information and Broadcasting ministry officials said.
Former FT II chairman, Gajendra Chauhan, congratulations Kher on being appointed as chairman.

The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri in 2004 and the Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in the field of cinema and arts.
Anupam Kher's wife, Kirron Kher is BJP MP from Chandigarh constituency.
Director Prakash Jha also praised the decision of the government.

"Congratulations Shri @AnupamPkher ji, for being appointed as @FTIIOfficial chairman," said actor-politician Paresh Rawal.
Director Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted, "Heartiest congratulations to @Anupamkher sir for being appointed as the Chairman of FTII.
