Andhra Woman Receives Parcel, Opens It To Find Man's Body Along With Rs 1.3 Crore Extortion Note

A woman in Andhra Pradesh's West Godavari district was left horrified after receiving a parcel containing the body of an unidentified person.

The shocking incident occurred in Yendagandi village, located in the Undi mandal of West Godavari district.

The recipient, identified as Naga Tulsi, had previously submitted an application to the Kshatriya Seva Samithi seeking financial assistance to build her house, reported IANS. The organisation had initially sent her tiles for the construction.

Tulsi later requested further help and was reportedly promised electrical appliances, including lights, fans, and switches. She had even received a WhatsApp message confirming the delivery of these items.

On Thursday evening, a parcel was delivered to her doorstep by an individual who informed her it contained electrical appliances. However, upon opening the box, Tulsi was shocked to discover the body of a man inside.

Her family, equally alarmed, immediately contacted the police, who arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. The body was subsequently transported to a government hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A letter found inside the parcel demanded ₹1.30 crore and threatened the family with serious consequences if the demand was not met.

District Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi visited the village to oversee the investigation. Authorities are currently working to identify the individual who delivered the parcel and have summoned representatives from the Kshatriya Seva Samithi for questioning.

According to police, the body is that of a man, approximately 45 years old, who is believed to have died 4-5 days ago. Investigators are examining whether foul play was involved and verifying any missing person reports filed within nearby police station jurisdictions.

The investigation remains ongoing.
