Andhra Pradesh NDA Parties Finalize Seat-Sharing Formula for Lok Sabha and State Polls
Andhra Pradesh NDA partners BJP, TDP, and JanaSena have finalized their seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Lok Sabha and state assembly elections, with BJP contesting 6 Lok Sabha and 10 assembly seats, TDP fighting 17 parliamentary and 144 state seats, and JanaSena contesting 2 Lok Sabha and 21 assembly seats.
In a significant development, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners in Andhra Pradesh have finalized their seat-sharing formula for the upcoming Lok Sabha and state assembly elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and JanaSena Party (JSP) came together to forge a formidable alliance, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle in the state.

Seat-Sharing Arrangement
According to the agreed-upon formula, the BJP will contest six Lok Sabha seats and 10 assembly seats, while the TDP will field candidates in 17 parliamentary constituencies and 144 state assembly segments. JanaSena, led by popular actor and politician Pawan Kalyan, will contest two Lok Sabha seats and 21 assembly seats.
Key Players in the Alliance
The seat-sharing negotiations were spearheaded by senior BJP leader and Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who met with TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and JanaSena chief Kalyan in Amaravati. Naidu, in a post on social media platform X, expressed his gratitude for the alliance and called upon the people of Andhra Pradesh to support their combined efforts to reclaim the state and build a brighter future.
Electoral Significance
The 2024 polls mark the first time that the TDP, BJP, and JSP will contest elections together. In the 2014 elections, the TDP and BJP had fought the polls in alliance, with JanaSena extending outside support. The upcoming elections will test the strength of this new alliance and its ability to challenge the ruling YSR Congress Party.
Candidate Announcements and Campaign Plans
The TDP and JanaSena have already announced the names of 100 candidates, and Naidu assured that the remaining candidates will be named soon. The alliance partners are actively planning their campaign strategies, with the TDP sources revealing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to attend an election meeting between March 17 and 20. Modi's participation in the meeting would mark a significant moment in the campaign and could galvanize support for the alliance.
The finalization of the seat-sharing formula among the NDA partners in Andhra Pradesh sets the stage for an intense electoral contest in the state. With the TDP, BJP, and JSP joining forces, the alliance aims to capitalize on their collective strengths and challenge the incumbent government. The upcoming weeks will be crucial as the alliance partners work to mobilize their supporters and convince the electorate of their vision for Andhra Pradesh's future.
