Andhra Pradesh Leaders Express Condolences Following the Death of Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, known for his pivotal role in India's economic reforms, passed away at the age of 92 in New Delhi. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, confirmed his death after he was admitted to the emergency ward in critical condition around 8:30 pm on Thursday.

Andhra Leaders Condole Manmohan Singhs Death

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed his sorrow over Singh's passing. He described Singh as an "intellectual statesman" who embodied humility, wisdom, and integrity. Naidu highlighted Singh's contributions from his time as finance minister in 1991 to his tenure as prime minister, noting his tireless service to the nation.

Tributes from Political Leaders

Governor S Abdul Nazeer also conveyed deep sadness over Singh's death. He praised Singh as a thinker and scholar renowned for his illustrious career and significant role in implementing comprehensive economic reforms recognised globally. Nazeer's statement was released from the Raj Bhavan.

Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy shared similar sentiments, acknowledging Singh's visionary policies. Reddy stated that Singh's economic reforms laid the groundwork for India's emergence as a global power. He expressed his condolences in a post on X.

Legacy of Economic Reforms

Singh's tenure as Prime Minister spanned a decade from 2004 to 2014. His leadership during this period was marked by efforts to uplift millions through economic policies. Naidu emphasised that Singh's death is a significant loss to the nation and extended condolences to Singh's family and loved ones.
