Andhra Pradesh Crime: Stalker Sets A Girl On Fire For Turning Down Proposal

A tragic incident unfolded in Andhra Pradesh's Nandyala district, where a 17-year-old girl lost her life after being set on fire by a 21-year-old named Raghavendra. The accused had been pursuing the victim for three years, but she consistently rejected his advances. Despite suffering severe burns himself, Raghavendra was taken into custody by the police.

Late Monday night, Raghavendra arrived at the home of the girl's grandparents in Nandyala. He knocked on her room door, and when she opened it, he forced his way inside and locked it. Allegedly, he poured petrol over her and set her ablaze. To prevent her from calling for help, he reportedly gagged her.

Initially, Raghavendra claimed that the incident was an "accident." However, when he attempted to flee, local residents apprehended him and handed him over to law enforcement officers. He is currently receiving medical treatment for his injuries while under police custody.
