New Amul Milk Price Implements From Today; Check Rate List For All Milk Variants And Milk Products

Prices of Amul Milk will be hiked by Rs 2 per liter from Monday, announced the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) citing more demand and an increase in cost of production. The new Amul milk price will be applied on all variants.

"The increase of ₹2 per liter translates to the range of 3-4 percent increase in MRP, which is much lower than the average food inflation. It is worthwhile to note that since February 2023, Amul has made no increase in prices of fresh pouch milk in major markets," GCMMF said in a statement.

"The price revision shall help in sustaining remunerative milk prices to our milk producers and to encourage them for higher milk production," the statement further reads.

The price of Amul milk was last revised in February 2023, and now, soon after the completion of General Elections 2024, GCMMF has announced new Amul milk prices.

Talking to the media, Jayen Mehta, MD of GCMMF, said that revising milk and dairy products prices was necessary to compensate farmers for the increased cost of production.

For the unversed, Amul pays 80 paise of every rupee paid by consumers for milk and milk products to milk producers.

Now the new price for pack a of 1 liter Amul buffalo milk is Rs 72, Amul Gold milk is Rs 66 and Amul Shakti milk stands at Rs 60.
