Gadkari Announces Unique Bridge with Revolving Restaurant in Amritsar

Bridge to Showcase Sikh Culture

The bridge will be constructed around 40 km from Amritsar and will feature a capsule lift that will take tourists to a gallery showcasing the unique Sikh culture, including the life of 10th Sikh Guru Gobind Singh and the history of Golden Temple.

Revolving Restaurant and Coffee Shop

The bridge will also have a revolving restaurant with an attractive coffee shop, which is expected to welcome 1.5 lakh tourists daily.

Bridge Project Under Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway

The bridge project will be covered under the 669-km greenfield Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway, which is being built at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore.

Seeking Intervention for Shahpur Kandi Dam Project

Earlier, Gadkari sought the intervention of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the Rs 2,715-crore Shahpur Kandi dam project, being set up on the Ravi river. The project, which was approved when Gadkari was the Union water resources minister, will generate 206 MW of power and has the potential to irrigate 5,000 hectares of land in Punjab and 31,000 hectares of land in Jammu and Kashmir.

The unique bridge with a revolving restaurant over the Beas river is expected to become a major tourist attraction in Amritsar. The bridge, along with the Shahpur Kandi dam project, will contribute to the development of infrastructure and economy in the region.
